Jagat J. Mukherjee, Research Scientist, Great Lakes Center
Jagat Mukherjee, research scientist in the Great Lakes Center's Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry Lab, presented his current research on chemical carcinogenesis at the annual meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research, held in Washington, D.C., April 6–10. The title of the presentation was “Benzopyrene Diol Epoxide Attenuates p34cdc2 and Inhibits Cell Growth: Role of p53.” Subodh Kumar, interim director of the GLC's toxicology lab, coauthored the presentation. This research has the objective to develop a chemo-preventive strategy against PAH–induced carcinogenesis.
