Brian is from Western New York and grew up fishing and boating on Lake Erie. He went on to perform his Master’s research on the Upper Niagara River where he carried out a biotelemetric study on resident turtles. He returned to his alma mater when he joined the Great Lakes Center in 2017. He has extensive experience operating research vessels, carrying out fieldwork, and running a variety of aquatic research projects on the Great Lakes and their tributaries. He currently runs two seasonal weather data buoys on Lake Erie and manages the assets and activities at the Great Lakes Center Field Station.
